Vorna Valley residents invited to clean up

MIDRAND – Join the Vorna Valley Resident's Association in cleaning up the Vlei this Heritage Day.

 

The Vorna Valley Resident’s Association invites the community to its annual Vlei Clean-Up on Heritage Day.

In a statement, the association advised residents who will take part in the clean up on 24 September from 9am – 11am, to wear sensible shoes, long pants and a cap and that dogs on a leash are also welcome.

The starting points will be Le Roux Avenue entrance, closest corner at Berger Road and on Chris Barnard Street ending at Harry Galaun, closest corner at Anton Hartman.

Things to note about the clean-up:

  • There are no ablutions.
  • Plastic bags for the clean-up will be supplied by City Parks and an indemnity form must be filled in and signed beforehand.
  • Wendy Redl of Harcourts Midrand will sponsor bottled water at the two starting points.
  • TRSS will guard vehicles at the two starting points.
  • Vorna Valley Spar will sponsor cool drinks after the clean-up at the Harry Galaun end point.
  • Netcare 911 will be on standby in case of emergencies.
  • Firzt Realty Company will sponsor rubber gloves, to ensure well-being of people taking part in the clean up, at the two starting points.
  • ADT will join residents in cleaning up the Vlei.
