Midrand Schools Play Festival coming soon
MIDRAND – Come and watch plays at the Midrand Schools Play festival.
At the Midrand Lebone Schools Play Festival, a speech and drama group from Midrand Primary School will showcase a variety of plays. The festival, in its second year, hopes to pool talent from schools around the area.
Midrand Primary School teacher and festival coordinator, Brian Jokozela, said, “The festival is aimed at exposing and nurturing the talent of pupils who aspire to be future theatre practitioners.
“The festival seeks to also develop the level of arts in our schools to meet that of other sporting codes.”
The event will showcase dramatised poems, mini-plays, solo verses, monologues and dialogues.
The festival will take place on 13 August from 8am until 1pm at Midrand English Medium Primary School. Entrance is R40 for adults and R20 for pupils.
