Student has nothing but good intentions

MIDRAND – Do as the do-gooder's do and help a cause dear to you

An advocate for animals rights, a law student, a helper to children with cancer – she’s an all-around do-gooder.

Maxcine Taylor is the definition of a goal-orientated individual and she’ll stop at nothing to serve the causes that she finds near and dear to her heart.

The Midrand resident, since beginning her studies towards her degree in law, has taken on a number of roles in her community.

In 2014, before the pageant queen was crowned Miss Jacaranda Public’s Choice 2014 she launched her One Body Movement campaign; a campaign through which she encourages children to get active in sports as a potential means to better their lives.

This year she added another facet to her campaign and teamed up with the SPCA.

“The doggie drive was part of One Body Movement because I felt that I needed to incorporate animals as I feel very strongly about animal rights and the treatment of animals,” Taylor explained why she decided to assist with a drive for donations of food and other necessities for the animals.

“I wanted to give them a voice and advocate for them, in a way, so I started this drive for the Midrand SPCA.”

The young student has also worked closely with the Childhood Cancer Foundation of South Africa (CHOC) and aims to take up more responsibility in assisting this great cause in the future.

While taking on these tasks, she is also focused on attaining her degree and later specialising in sports law.

What else could she possibly do if she had any spare time?

This philanthropic young student is also in pursuit of a modelling career and does a number of shoots on the side in order to stay fresh in the cutthroat entertainment industry.

Unfortunately, this dynamo is looking to take her work and studies abroad.

It’s not difficult to take a cue from Taylor and start working with organisations who share the same philanthropic vision as you do.
