Strut your stuff and be discovered

RIVONIA – Let the world discover your talents on 9 July.

Every year, the International Arts Talent Showcase (IATS) helps local entertainers, both young and old, in various faculties to realise their dreams.

The Applause Rising Talent Showcase (Arts) is a family-owned and operated organisation, founded by international talent scout, Kim Meyers, and IATS is the South African leg of the Arts, held annually in Orlando, Florida, run by Elsubie Verlinden, founder of Just You Model and Artist Management.

Verlinden runs the company because she achieves her dream every time she sees someone else succeed.

Growing up, Verlinden found that there was a lack of opportunities for people seeking a career in the arts. So she took matters into her own hands and teamed up with Meyers to bring the showcase to Africa.

The competitions give youngsters not only a platform to showcase their talent locally, but the opportunity to travel abroad and the chance at international education – to further develop their skills in acting, modelling, singing and dancing.

The IATS and the Arts are not described as competitions, but rather as platforms with the primary focus on arts education.

Those who are selected are taken through the steps and taught the ins and outs of the industry, and can then use that information to further themselves within the industry.

As regional director for Arts in Africa, Meyers has provided countless young South Africans exposure to top educational outlets in the USA.

Each year, she and her team travels from city to city throughout South Africa to scout the best talent the country has to offer.

Auditions have been held in three cities already, but don’t fret because Johannesburg is up next on 9 July at the Just You talent agency offices in Rivonia.

If you have an unseen talent that is yet to be unleashed, don’t miss out on these auditions.
