Woman wanted for questioning

VORNA VALLEY – Help the police find a woman wanted for questioning in connection to a house robbery which occurred last year.

A woman is wanted by Midrand Police Station for questioning with regards to a robbery which occurred at a complex in Vorna Valley.

Constable Matome Tlamela, head of communications at Midrand Police Station, said the woman was a domestic worker for the victim at the time of the crime. “On 9 October last year, the woman and her employer were inside the house when they heard a knock at the door,” she said.

“A man was at the door and the domestic worker let him in. The victim said the man slapped the domestic worker around and then threatened the owner of the house with a firearm. We believe that he did that to try and fool the victim.”

According to Tlamela, during the investigation, the police saw the two suspects walking out of the complex together on the complex’s security video footage. “The domestic worker never went back to work again. They allegedly got away with jewellery worth R150 000 and a credit card from which they withdrew an amount of R72 000.

“Anyone who knows the whereabouts of this suspect, we advise to please call detective sergeant Dikgale or the Midrand police.

“At the time of the robbery, she was rumoured to be living in Diepsloot, however, we now believe she might be in Alexandra.”
