40 bust in Rabie Ridge

MIDRAND - More than 40 people were arrested for various crimes on 25 May in Rabie Ridge.

 

More than 40 people were arrested on 25 May during an operation by Rabie Ridge police.

Police spokesperson Constable Jacob Nhlongo said the operation in Rabie Ridge saw many suspects arrested for various crimes. He revealed, “Thirty people were arrested for drunk driving, one for assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, two for common robbery, five for possession of illegal drugs, and seven illegal liquor outlets were closed.”

Nhlongo added that at a roadblock on Modderfontein Road next to Phomolong Section 127, vehicles were searched. Also, 298 people and 16 premises were searched.

The suspects will soon appear in court facing various charges.
