Groenvoer’s Mother’s Day Market fun

MIDRAND - A ton of fun was had at Groenvoer’s Mother’s Day Market.

Market visitors enjoyed a day out sampling and buying from stalls offering everything from food to clothing, including Mother’s Day gifts, at Groenvoer’s Mother’s Day Market in Midrand.

Midrand charity stalls included the Lions Club and Midrand SPCA and horse rides were offered by Capriole Stables. One of the event organisers, Jennifer Sarkis said, “While the turnout was not as big as the previous Mother’s Day market, we are happy with the variety of stalls available to visitors.”

South Africa’s Got Talent semi-finalist, Pavia Abrosie, from Hizi Hizi belly dancers, dazzled the visitors with belly-dancing routines and offered dance lessons. She said, “I have always loved dancing, and I enjoyed teaching little children to dance today, too.”

Indigenous Nguni cattle from the Hoëveld Nguni Klub were on display at the market. Steve Watkins, who was with the herd said, “This breed is resilient, it survived the drought period that the country experienced recently.”

Precious Moyo had a stall selling health bread from the Artisan Bread Shop in Pretoria. She said, “You can’t go wrong with this bread, it is the healthiest.”
