Ivory Park warrant Officer Neldah Sekgobela said the 69-year-old pastor allegedly had a short quarrel with one of the deceased who is believed to be his son-in-law. The three were believed to be pastors for different branches of the church. “It is alleged that the deceased invited the two victims to his house to discuss something about the church before he left for Mpumalanga, for personal reasons,” said Sekgobela.
The deceased allegedly asked his son-in-law to come along with his wife, the deceased’s daughter. While having a conversation, the deceased’s daughter went into one of the bedrooms and a few moments later heard gunshots.She went to the lounge where the men met and found her father holding a firearm. One pastor was already dead and her husband begged her to run away before he died. The witness’s father went into one of the bedrooms and shot himself. He died instantly.
A case docket for two counts of murder and an inquest docket have been opened at Ivory Park Police Station. Police are investigating the matter to find out the motive of the killings.
