On 16 February at around 8am, the Midrand police ,jointly with Metro police and Emergency Services, had the talk with children of the pre-schools. The two-hour event ended at 10am and the aim of the event was to address the children on bullying, their rights, road safety, being careful when interacting with strangers, police emergency numbers and the child abuse line numbers.

“The children were also advised to know their parent’s names, residential addresses, and the cellphone numbers of their parents as well as their nearest police station in case of an emergency,” said Constable Nanti Belebesi, social crime prevention officer at the Midrand police.

The police and Metro police shared their words of wisdom with the the children and played with them. “The children were happy to meet the police and said they would like us to visit again,” said Belebesi.
