Webb spoke passionately to Beaulieu Preparatory pupils about the importance of showing support, love and kindness to people with cancer. She also previewed the music video of her cover single, Bette Midler’s Wind beneath my Wings.

Webb explained that her life had been touched by cancer twice, the first time being when her grandmother was diagnosed with cancer and passed away from the illness, and most recently when her talent agent and mentor Addi Lang was diagnosed with breast cancer. “Addi is fighting this battle with cancer and I know she’s going to win,” she said.

Lang chose Webb as one of the ambassadors for her Forever Changed campaign, which seeks to offer support to brave ‘warriors’ who are battling cancer. Webb explained that the name Forever Changed came from her favourite Carrie Underwood song.

Coincidentally Wind Beneath my Wings was also the song Webb would sing to her grandmother before she lost her battle with cancer.

Webb has big plans for this year and will soon be meeting with American record executives to take her music to the global market. She also hopes that the Forever Changed campaign becomes much bigger.

Webb is encouraging other schools in the Fourways and Sandton areas to also host a sprayathon event.
