Life sentence for four murderers

IVORY PARK - Four suspects have been handed life sentences at Palmridge High Court on two counts of murder committed in Ivory Park in December 2011.

Ivory Park Warrant Officer Nelda Sekgobela said three suspects, Juda Kubai, Andrew Mashaba and Joseph Kubai broke into a house in Ivory Park in the evening and found the home owners asleep.

“One of the suspects shot the male dead after he had awoken and went to check what the noise was about. The wife remained in the room.”

“The man’s son who was sleeping in an adjacent room outside the house woke up when he heard the gunshot and ran to the main house. He was shot dead by one of the suspects.”

The suspects only stole the deceased’s phone. Later the suspects were arrested and during investigations the suspects revealed that the deceased’s wife had arranged with the suspects to break in and rob her husband. The woman and fourth suspect, Maria Tsolo, had left the window open for the suspects.

“Ivory Park station Commander Colonel Sontaga Seisa was pleased with the court’s decision to convict the suspects and the deceased’s wife to life in prison. He also commends the work of the officers who diligently investigated the case,” Sekgobela said.
