Brothers stabbed in after-school fight

NOORDWYK - Two brothers were allegedly stabbed by five men at about 2.30pm on 22 September outside their high school in Noordwyk.

An eyewitness, who wished to remain anonymous, said the two brothers were in Grade 9 and 11, and alleged that a fight between them and the five men started on 19 September because the brothers were “interfering in the men’s business”.

The eyewitness said the five men were each carrying knives and one had a panga, and alleged they approached the two brothers and stabbed them.

The eyewitness said both brothers were stabbed in the back. The elder brother sustained three stab wounds while the younger brother sustained one. The eyewitness said the five men then sped off in a silver Toyota Corolla.

The eyewitness said a female security guard tried to stop the fight. The police were called to the scene.

Constable Matome Tlamela confirmed that an incident had taken place, but could not comment further on the details as a case had yet to be opened with the police.

The Department of Education had not commented by the time of publication.
