Celebrating hard work and excellence

MIDRAND - Tembisa Hospital awarded certificates to its intern doctors for their hard work and dedication.

Interns’ curator Dr Wim Wijnant said, “For over ten years now, the hospital has had the medical intern awards to commend intern doctors on their hard work.”

Dr Wijnant added, “The hospital management, staff and patients appreciate the extra mile the intern doctors are always willing to take.”

He said the intern doctors have showed unwavering support to patients. “The intern doctors’ concern for patients’ well-being and helping patients in their battle for survival has been outstanding,” Dr Wijnant said.

The hospital celebrated the knowledge and medical skills the intern doctors have acquired.

Dr Wijnant explained, “The best first and second year intern doctors are chosen by medical officers and consultants. At the end of their two-year programme, the best intern is chosen and given a prize.”

The doctor expressed that the hospital believes in celebrating the good work that the doctors do to save lives. “Committed doctors provide excellent care to patients,” he said.

Intern doctor, Mpho Bodiba said he felt honoured by the award. He said, “It is great to have one’s efforts recognised. I have always wanted to be a doctor since I was young; I used to admire my family doctor.”
