Bike race offers family fun

KYALAMI - The Beaulieu Preparatory School annual bike race will be held on Sunday, 8 June in Beaulieu, Kyalami.

The annual event attracts over 2 000 people and features a 45km ride through natural forests and open farmlands. However participants do have the choice of doing a 25km, 15.5km and 2.5km ride.

“What started off as a fundraising event for our school has turned into an event that has quickly become part of the cycling community calendar,” said Darran Ledden, chairperson of the Parent Teacher Forum.

He believes that the success of the cycle challenge is that all levels of riders and all members of the family are catered for. “The terrain can be challenging at times and this only adds to the excitement and interest of the race,” he said.

“We welcome everyone from all over Johannesburg to join us at the event, it is the ideal way to spend a healthy, happy, family Sunday.”
