MIDRAND - A man was robbed of R19 000 cash as well as other items by four men at 2pm on 5 May.

Midrand police Constable Matome Tlamela said the incident took place in Halfway House.

“According to the complainant, he withdrew money from a bank and then he met a man that he knows very well and told him that he wants to tint his cars windows,” said Tlamela. “The man told the complainant that there are people that he knows that can do the tinting job and he offered to take him to those people.”

When the complainant met the men who could help him with the tinting, they told him to get into their vehicle so they could go and buy the material for the job.

“The suspects were driving a Blue Toyota Corolla and on the way one of the suspects pointed a firearm at the complainant and another one searched him.”

She said the cash, a cellphone and ID book were stolen from the complainant. “They dropped him at K101 Street in Halfway House,” said Tlamela.
