Four arrested after house robbery

VORNA VALLEY - A Vorna Valley house in Baker Street was robbed on 14 April at 10.30am leading to four suspects being arrested.

Midrand police communications officer, Constable Matome Tlamela said the complainant heard a noise at the front gate and saw three men trying to gain access. He ran into the house and slam-locked the lounge gate and pressed the panic button.

The complainant and his wife were in the house. “The suspects broke the bedroom window and got into the house,” said Tlamela. “One suspect pointed a gun at the complainant and made him lie on the ground. The other two suspects removed a gold ring from the wife’s finger. The suspects took two laptops, one wi-fi system and one wrist watch.”

“The suspects got into a light green Sentra,” said Tlamela. “ADT arrived at the scene and saw five suspects fleeing from the scene. ADT gave chase and managed to apprehend four suspects. All the goods were recovered.”

The suspects were arrested by Midrand police and the car was recovered as a stolen vehicle.

No injuries were sustained and no shots were fired.
