The IIE’s Varsity College Waterfall visits Noordwyk Primary to honoure Madiba

There was also a girl's self-esteem talk for Grade 6 and 7 learners focusing on how girls can positively affirm themselves.

The IIE’s Varsity College Waterfall career centre coordinator Nomcebo Langa celebrated Mandela Day with some very excited Noordwyk Primary School learners.

They were also joined by eight staff members and nine learners from Waterfall College.
The school playground was abuzz with a variety of activities, games, and music as Grade R, 1, 6, and 7 learners honoured Nelson Mandela.
And the children did not go hungry as 250 hotdogs were donated for the day.

Varsity College student wellness manager Nozipho Nkosi hosted a girl’s self-esteem talk for Grade 6 and 7 learners focusing on how girls could positively affirm themselves.

“It was such a great experience to be part of a team that made a huge difference to Noordwyk Primary learners on Mandela Day,” said Langa.

“As the day progressed, it was clear that the spirit of Nelson Mandela was present. Engaging with the learners in a fun and playful manner really made an indelible impression.”
