Operation Okae Molao in Rabie Ridge sees the arrest 222 suspects and traffic fines to the value of R6500 issued

Ekurhuleni deputy district commissioner, Brigadier Lebohang Machakela said the operation was aimed at reinforcing the authority of the state and helping the local police station fight raging crime activities in the Rabie Ridge policing precinct.

To reduce crime in Rabie Ridge, various law enforcement agencies took to the streets to help local police in the reduction of crime.

The Okae Molao operation was attended by Ekurhuleni deputy district commissioner, Brigadier Lebohang Machakela who also commended the efforts of SAPS members and other law enforcement agencies in their battle against crime.
This comes after more than 222 suspects were arrested for various crimes during the detective’s suspects tracing operations Okae Molao which was held on July 5 and 6.

Machakela said the operation was aimed at reinforcing the authority of the state and helping the local police station fight the raging crime activities in the Rabie Ridge policing precinct. He described the operation as a success saying it continues yielding positive results.

“Main operations continued in Rabie Ridge Policing precincts comprising of SAPS and other law enforcement agencies whereby 12 suspects were nabbed for being undocumented. Five illegal liquor outlets were shut down, and 13 traffic fines to the value of R6 500 were issued to the motorists,” said Machakela.

One suspect was arrested for dealing in drugs, one was found to have dagga while another suspect had live ammunition, and a black pallet gun with three bullets taken.

An Imbizo was also conducted in Kanana Extension 4 informal settlement, Rabie Ridge.
The aim was to allow community members to raise their concerns regarding crime as well as address some of the thorny issues affecting the community.
