Noordwyk Secondary School learner to represent Midrand Police at provincial competition

Bokamoso Makgai, (14) says she is eagerly looking forward to the Junior Police Commissioners competition to be held on Friday, July 7.

Bokamoso Makgai will represent the Midrand Police at the provincial Junior Commissioners competition.

The Noordwyk High School learner came first in the first round of the competition held at the University of Johannesburg’s Soweto Campus on June 26.
The competition targets young learners, mostly Grade 8 and 9 across the province, to participate in public speaking and debating activities.

Participants are then judged based on their performance in the above-mentioned activities.
Bokamoso, (14), from Noordwyk, said she was introduced to the competition by her teacher with four other learners from the school.

She added that she feels extremely honoured and humbled to have emerged victorious in the first round.
“I am eagerly looking forward to representing Midrand Police at the provincial level. My goal is to represent my school and the Midrand community in the best possible way. I aspire to secure the first position in the competition. And I am confident in my ability to achieve that,” said Bokamoso.

She said winning the competition would be a significant achievement for her, and it will not only enhance her portfolio but also raise the reputation of both the police and the school.

Bokamoso’s parents, Collen and Dinah Makhubele described their daughter as a humble, obedient and hard-working child.
“She constantly strives to achieve the goal she sets for herself. And as parents, we are immensely proud of her unwavering commitment and diligent efforts. She has demonstrated exceptional public speaking skills and we have great faith in her abilities,” they said.

Collen and Dinah added that her accomplishments fill them with a profound sense of pride and joy.
“We are grateful for the opportunity she has been given and will continue to support Bokamosa in her future endeavours. We wish her the best in the upcoming second round of the competition”.
