The IIE’s Varsity College Waterfall welcomes Bhavnesh Sannasi as the first full-time sport co-ordinator

IIE’s Varsity College Waterfall welcomes the new sports co-ordinator to promote a love for sport.

Participation in sports is considered to be an important facet of the holistic educational experience of students. This is why the IIE’s Varsity College Waterfall is proud to welcome Bhavnesh ‘Bhav’ Sannasi as the campus sports co-ordinator.

He is the first full-time sports co-ordinator at the college and before stepping into this role, he was head of sports at Irene Primary School.

Bhav obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Science and Psychology from Unisa and a Diploma in Sports Management: Business Principles in Sport from the University of Cape Town.

One of his aims will be to develop and make a large variety of sports accessible to students at the Waterfall campus. “As the first full-time sports co-ordinator, I would like to engage with the student body in a positive manner hoping that my relatability will give students a safe space to express themselves through sport,” said Bhav.

He believes that students can develop friendships, a sense of fair play, and cooperation with teammates. “I am hoping to get the sports programme to run successfully so students can experience growth.”

He concluded that sports may also add a new dimension to the student spirit and tradition on campus.
