Love Trust’s Nokuphila School assists learners to receive bursaries

Nokuphila School in Midrand helps learners to get bursaries to continue with their studies.

Nokuphila School has helped two former learners to obtain bursaries for the 2023 academic year.

Lungile Kekana (14) and Ayanda Khoza (13) were ecstatic to discover that they had each earned a bursary – Lungile to St John’s College and Ayanda to Christ Church College.

Lungile, who wants to study cardiology after completing matric, explained how he felt when he found out he has been awarded a bursary. “I was really happy and cried tears of joy because I never expected it. I only achieved fourth place in our school’s top 10 for academic achievement in 2022.”

He said that this was an indication that one needs to work hard to get what you want.

Lungile Kekana received a bursary to attend St John College.

Ayanda wants to study medicine after school as well as start his own waste management company. While he is still adjusting at his new school, Ayanda said, “I felt lonely on the first day, but I now feel welcome and I have a few friends.

“I want to get good academic results. Earn my IEB certificate and be a good sportsperson, as the school has good sporting facilities.”

Nokuphila played a huge role in ensuring that these two learners have a bursary to continue their studies regardless of their background. They ensure that all their learners feel welcome and are treated fairly and equally.

Ayanda and Lungile believe their success is directly tied to their years spent at Nokuphila. They said they are aware of the work that went into helping them get the bursaries and they are thankful.
