Curro Sagewood learners visit the Midrand SPCA

Education plays a critical role in the work that the SPCA does and they always emphasise this and embrace it, especially with the youth.

The Midrand SPCA spent two days with the learners and teachers from Curro Sagewood.

Grades 8, 9, and 10 learners recently visited the SPCA to learn what the organisation does and how the youth can bring about change, education on caring for pets and how to report animal cruelty.

These were only a few of the subjects that we discussed. The SPCA was also spoilt with many gifts of pet food, treats, toys, blankets and cleaning products from the school.

Midrand SPCA general manager Pam Pretorius speaks to Curro Sagewood learners.

According to the SPCA general manager, Pam Pretorius the youth ‘are the future carers of our country and its sentient beings.’

“Thank you very much to the teachers, learners, and parents from Curro who made this day possible. Thank you for investing in our animals and the Midrand SPCA,” said Pretorius.

The SPCA also thanked its animal behaviourist, Jessica Prinsloo, for setting aside time to come in and assist them with the educational talk to the learners.
