Summerhill School learner selected for Gauteng East Regional Cricket team

He took part in more trials held at St Peter's Prep School where the top 26 players were selected for the U12 Gauteng East Regional Cricket team.

Summerhill School U12 cricket player, Kaushik Kuturu (11) has been selected for the Gauteng East Regional Cricket squad.

This comes after the head of sport at the school, Reece Prinsloo sent him to trials that took place at St Peter’s Prep School in Sandton earlier this year.

Kaushik made it through various rounds with different cricket players from different schools. He scored 51 runs with a top score of 29 not out and his average for term one was 25.5 runs per game.

In the second round, he took part in more trials held at the same school on October 27 where the top 26 players were selected for the U12 Gauteng East Regional Cricket team. He scored 66 runs with a top score of 53 and his average for term three is 33 runs a game.

Kaushik said he feels extremely excited about the journey he is about to embark on, and his father is extremely proud of his achievement and what he has done in such a short period of time.
