Curro Midrand Sagewood learners and teachers join the commemoration of Women’s Month

They conducted a symbolic ribbon-tying ritual and erected posters on the school fence.

As the country and our youth continue to commemorate Women’s Month in many ways, local youngsters from Midrand needed to take their stand.

Curro Midrand Sagewood High School learners sing peaceful songs in honour of many iconic women.

Curro Midrand Sagewood High School joined high school’s girls and female teachers gathered at the school premises to create awareness around the impact women have on society on August 13.

Learners hold banners against women abuse.

With black being the colour for the day, the group began with a peaceful chant of songs and protested in honour of many women icons who have undergone struggles in their lives.

Curro Midrand Sagewood campus prides itself on woman empowerment and through this demonstration, the learners were able to express their stand on violence against women.

The school marketing manager Kayla Wolmarans said, “The learners felt the ambience of the school and the powerful impact we can make when we choose to stand up and fight for what we believe in.”
