IIE’s Varsity College Waterfall hosted local high schools learners for a general knowledge quiz

The quiz covered questions on geography, history, science and amp, nature, sport, and entertainment.

The IIE’s Varsity College Waterfall and seven other Varsity College campuses hosted the first round of its annual National High Schools’ Quiz on August 17.

The general knowledge quiz included questions on geography, history, science, nature, sport, entertainment and current affairs and was in a Trivial Pursuit format adapted for high school learners.

Avadhi Ghela, campus head at the Waterfall campus said it was a privilege to host the first round of the quiz on campus and to provide an opportunity for the high school learners in the area to showcase their knowledge in a fun and exciting way.

“I am so proud of those who took advantage of the day. An event like this boosts confidence within our youth. This was not only a good opportunity to experience what the learners know but also to spark more interest in developing general knowledge. All the learners looked very smart in their school uniforms and exuded confidence – certainly more smiles after the event,” said Ghela.

Scores were calculated based on how fast the learners could give the correct answer, and parents and teachers were keen spectators.

Sisekelo Mzobe, Shaakirah Saliem, Adam Langson, Oatile Mampuru, and Phetsile Zwane celebrate Adam’s first place in the first round of the IIE’s Varsity College’s National High Schools’ Quiz.
