Vorna Valley Residents Association invites residents to an important annual AGM meeting

VVRA chairperson Marianne Nel has described the upcoming meeting as the one not to miss by residents as critical issues affecting the residents will be discussed.

Vorna Valley Residents Association urged all residents to come to the association’s AGM to discuss pertinent issues affecting them.

The meeting will be held on June 23 at the Swiss Club in 31 Moerdyk Street at 19:00.

Chairperson of the association Marianne Nel said the purpose of the AGM was to elect new volunteers for the committee, and discuss issues that residents had brought up in the previous meeting.

She hoped residents would heed the call as they usually get an attendance of about 30 to 50 people at most, while the area has about 12 000 to 15 000 residents.

“We hope to have Ward 132 councillor Annete Deppe there to discuss the new financial budget. Residents can ask questions and hopefully we can answer them,” said Nel.

Lack of service delivery in all sectors was also a pressing matter that needed the association’s undivided attention, according to Nel.

“We have a good relationship with council and most of the entities, and where possible they do their best to resolve issues. We need volunteers who are willing and able to assist in making Vorna Valley a better place to live in.”
