A Re Sebetseng initiative launched at Midrand Fire Station

MMC for Transport Funzela Ngobeni said the two-week drive will focus on fixing roads in Region A.

Transport MMC Funzela Ngobeni has launched the A Re Sebetseng initiative in Region A.

The aim of this initiative is to tackle and address deteriorated roads around the region.

Ngobeni addressed various City of Joburg entities at the Midrand Fire Station on May 30 such as Joburg Water and Johannesburg Road Agency.

In his address, he said the two-week drive will end on June 10.

“We are beginning the process of going to repair the roads. We know that our roads are in a bad condition. We know that [with the] heavy rain season, after a long time of Covid-19, our roads have really [taken] a serious knock,” said Ngobeni.

He said the two-week plan would not be the end of the repairs. Afterwards, they will make repair assessments to ensure residents are satisfied.
