Christ Church Preparatory School and College learners took part in the Kids Lit Quiz and General Knowledge Quiz competition which puts readers onto the stage and lets them compete for fantastic prizes.
On March 14, the school’s General Knowledge Quiz team took part in a quiz held at Beaulieu Preparatory School. Christ Church entered two teams for the competition and competed against five other schools.
Christ Church’s team one consisted of Jonty Frost, Luyamangalisa Tywala, Rivoningo Mbokodo, and Kundai Zvoushe, while team two consisted of Belle Muanda, Thato Madolo, Jadin Subban, and Rebekah Frost.
Next to take the stage was the Kids Lit team for the international Kids Lit Quiz competition held at Springvale Primary on March 18. Again, Christ Church had two teams competing in the competition with team one consisting of Hailey Pillay, Keziah Ganesan, Matea Rapetsoa, and Onndwela Nemukondeni. Team two included Robertson Njawaya, Belle Muanda, Anoona Makamure, and Thato Madolo.
The Kids Lit Quiz is an annual literature competition, in which teams of four learners, aged 10 to 14, work together to answer a wide range of literary questions. At this event, there were seven schools competing.
Christ Church teacher Loren Frost was exceptionally proud of their behaviour as well as their achievements.
Overall, Christ Church obtained positions six and eight. “With very hard, and sometimes obscure, questions being asked, this accomplishment is no mean feat,” said Dawn Schmitz the school marketing manager.
“Well done to all the learners and thank you to Mrs Frost for the dedication and hard work,” Schmitz concluded.
