Members of the community are invited to attend a Sector 1 Crime Forum meeting at Midrand Chapel, Pitzer Road, on March 19.
The meeting will take place at 14:00 and residents are advised to notify Glenda James as to whether they will be attending the meeting in person or virtually.
The Midrand Sector 1 Crime Forum forms part of the Community Police Forum which oversees the five sectors in Midrand.
Section 1 encompasses the area between Randjesfontein Estate to the north, Allandale Road to the south, N1 to the west up to Boshoff Road, and President Park to the east.
According to James who is a member of the Sector 1 forum, they liaise between the community and police by communicating residents’ concerns on crime and trying to improve relations between the two.
Midrand police are reliant on reported crime cases to allocate vehicles for visibility in problematic areas.
