He said the Midrand cluster had produced top athletes in the past who went on to represent Gauteng in the National Championships. He mentioned Amanda Sebetha (Mayibuye Primary School) and Tshegofatso Masethe (Kaalfontein Primary School) as two athletes who had achieved this. Fisokuhle Sikhosana, teacher and sports facilitator at Midrand Primary School welcomed the results with joy. Sikhosana said they were proud of their athletes for what they achieved in such a short amount of time.

“If one can recall, we did not have a lot of time to prepare, also there was a lot of uncertainty going into this year because we did not know whether we would get the go-ahead to do these sports or not, but we are proud of the kids,” added Sikhosana Sikhosana hoped they would have similar results when they competed in the district and provincials, and hopefully have one or two learners who would make it to nationals.
