MIDRAND – Police warn business owners to be vigilant.

Police are urging business owners to ensure that their business are safe as there has been an increase in business robbery in Midrand.

Midrand Police Station spokesperson Constable Eliot Mabulane confirmed the rise. “Cases on the rise are business robberies, but police will stay visible and are on a campaign to address the increase of crime in Midrand.”

Mabulane offered the following tips to help clamp business robberies:
• Where possible, businesses should refrain from giving access to people without appointments
• Instal more security cameras around the business premises and ensure cameras work
• At night, lock all entrance and exit points and arm the alarm
• Get a security company to patrol that business parameter and report unusual movements to police.
