Crawford International Lonehill two learners play their part of Mandela Day and help security guards

LONEHILL – Food packs were put together and handed out by two Crawford International Lonehill learners doing their part for Mandela Day.

Two learners of Crawford International Lonehill Prep school took part in the Mandela Day spirit for the benefit of security guards in Lonehill and at their school.

Grade 1 and Grade 3 learners Juliet and Charlotte Black put together food packs with a number of items that were distributed to the security guards on July 18.
The food packs included items such as cooking oil, maize meal, samp, rice, tea coffee, sugar, baked beans and coffee creamer.

Head of marketing and admissions at the school, Robyn Swanepoel said the learners’ initiative had made a difference during these uncertain times. “They then distributed these special care packs to the security guards around Lonehill who have served to protect us in the lawlessness and continue to do so as the security at their school at Crawford International Lonehill.”

Swanepoel concluded, “Many of these guards are directly impacted by the riots and looting at home. Some of their family members have lost jobs and their livelihood. Their [learners] hopes are that this small act can help in some way.”
