Land Rover Discovery Sport and Range Rover Evoque special editions for SA

Both models are scheduled the arrive in South Africa in the fourth quarter of 2021.

Land Rover Range Rover is slated to expand its Discovery Sport and Range Rover Evoque range with the introduction of two new special editions.

Scheduled the arrive in South Africa in the fourth quarter of 2021, the Discovery Sport Urban Edition and Range Rover Evoque Bronze Collection Special Edition pricing information will be released prior to their local arrival. 

Starting with the Discovery Sport Urban Edition, it is based on the R-Dynamic model and adds aluminium finishers, non-leather Luxtec Suedecloth seats as well as a black contrast roof.

Buyers can choose between six exterior colours, namely: Namib Orange, Carpathian Grey, Firenze Red, Santorini Black, Ostuni White and Hakuba Silver.

The special edition also comes fitted with an electric tailgate and ClearSight Interior Rear View Mirror. 

Under the bonnet lurks a choice of two four-cylinder Ingenium powertrains; D200 and a P250.

The D200 uses a 2.0-litre turbodiesel engine with 147 kW and 430 Nm. It hurdles from a stop to 100 km/h in 8.6 seconds. The P250 employs a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol unit with 183 kW and 365 Nm. It dashed from a standstill to 100 km/h in 7.8 seconds. 

Both engines are paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

The Range Rover Evoque Bronze Collection Special Edition is based on the S variant and comes fitted with a Corinthian Bronze contrast roof, Burnished Copper side vents plus a set of exclusive new Satin Dark Grey 20-inch five split-spoke alloy wheels.

It can be had in three exterior colours; Carpathian Grey, Santorini Black and Seoul Pearl Silver.

The cabin comes fitted with Natural Grey Ash veneers, unique Bronze Collection carpet mats with metal-capped corners, standard ClearSight Interior Rear View Mirror sliding sunroof and Ebony grained leather seats. 

Outside, it makes use of Premium LED headlights with signature Daylight Running Lights and animated directional indicators. 

Powering the Special Edition Evoque are three engine options; D200, P250 and P300e. 

The P300e Plug-in Hybrid employs a 1.5-litre Ingenium three-cylinder petrol engine with an electric motor and can travel up to 55 km before the combustion engine kicks in. 

Range Rover claims it delivers fuel economy as low as 2.0l/100km. 

The SAVE mode has also been tweaked to enable the battery to recharge more effectively on the move. At a steady 113km/h, up to 80 per cent of the battery charge can be attained in just 90 minutes.

The Discovery Sport and Evoque are offered with a standard Land Rover Care Plan which includes a 100,000km warranty and servicing within 5 year period, whichever comes first.

All new or Approved Pre-Owned Land Rover customers in South Africa also receive complimentary driver training at the Experience facility in Lonehill, Johannesburg. 

The package is available to owners and a partner and includes refreshments, and lunch, all free of charge.
