“Cricket clubs have had to dig deeper to keep things going as union cricket will only be resuming in October. As such, Midrand Cricket Club has teamed up with Tembisa Cricket Club to keep the games alive.
” It might not be cricket with variety but friendlies have been played against the two sides since November. Most recently on Valentine’s Day, Midrand Cricket Club almost pulled of a surprise win against their highly-rated opponents.”

Moloko compared the teams’ friendlies to the Ashes series with both clubs going head-to-head with heart-stopping moments.

The Tembisa team has been able to reap the benefits of recruiting new players from the Midrand club who have proved themselves as a home for development.

Moloko concluded, “Under the new captaincy of Sean January, Midrand Cricket Club is looking to better their second-place finish last season. “With the addition of a few new faces and the experienced players, exciting times lie ahead.”
