Christ Church announces new captains for 2021

NOORDWYK – Christ Church Preparatory School and College announced their sports and culture captains for 2021.

Christ Church Preparatory School and College announced their sports, culture and house captains who will lead their school this year.

Spokesperson for the school Dawn Schmitz said the new captains were announced at their final assembly of last year. The newly appointed leaders were nominated through a selection committee headed by the school’s director of sport and culture Alviro Petersen.

Schmitz added that some of the important qualities needed for these roles were leadership, foresight, humility, confidence and authenticity.

The following were selected for sports and culture leadership roles:

  • Athletics captains, Thapelo Makoko and Ellicia Williams
  • Chess captain, Mpho Tsotetsi
  • Choir and music captains, Caleb Pillay and Jennifer Baillie
  • Cricket captain, Stefan Oberholzer
  • Drama captain, Kristen Peters
  • Hockey captain, Reabetswe Mabowa
  • Netball captain, Ofentse Molokoane
  • Public speaking captain, Hannah Richie
  • Rugby captain, Joshua Joseph
  • Boys’ soccer captain, Sfiso Ludonga
  • Swimming captains, Chante Bresler and Liam Hildebrand
  • Boys’ tennis captain, Calem Chetty.

The house captains for Christ Church Preparatory School and College for this year were as follows:

  • Acacia: Ofentse Molokoane and Thendo Rasivhaga
  • Cedar: Reabetswe Mabowa and Moagi Mailula
  • Olive: Phatsimo Modise and Matthew Doorsamy.
