We are in Rabie Ridge on a joint operation with SANDF, SAPS, JMPD, EMPD to cut illegal connections in Rabie Ridge, Kanana, and Marikana.
Illegal connections are the primary cause of overloading that leads to outages experienced in the @CityofJoburgZA in recent days. #ICareIPay pic.twitter.com/BETDH5LW4K— @CityPowerJhb (@CityPowerJhb) June 17, 2020
This is what people had to say on Twitter:
👏🏿👏🏿This is what was needed to sort out Rabie Ridge continuous power outages. This needs to be done on the continuous basis not a once off thing. Congrats to the city power for this efforts. Also what is needed is to check illegal connections in the bond houses too.

Those people need the power at the end of the day, what's going to be the fix?

But you can't only cut for those connected illegally whereas those who you had connected legally are still not buying electricity and it's been like that for years
