New adventure for Bathebeleng
MIDRAND – The Bathebeleng Children's Home were treated to a special Christmas.
The children of Bathebeleng Children’s Home had the opportunity to enjoy their first-ever flight at Grand Central Airport.
Chairperson of the children’s home Neville Searling said the flight was made possible with the help of Francois Joubert of Pambele Aviation which is based at the airport. The 24 children were treated to special lunch and taken on a flight to get a birds-eye view of Midrand.
Searling said the children were absolutely amazed by the experience because for many of them it was their first time on a plane.
“It was an incredible experience for everyone and we would like to thank the Pambele Aviation team and the Blue Valley Estate residents for all their help in making this possible for the children,” he said.
The children were also given Christmas presents thanks to residents of the Blue Valley Estate. Searle said, “We asked the children of the home to write a letter to Santa Claus telling him what they wanted for Christmas. The residents of Blue Valley purchased individual gifts for the children.”
The home hosted a special gift handover with Judith Ramuthaga of the Midrand Presbyterian Church playing the role of Mother Christmas.
