MIDRAND – A driver was carjacked on Allendale Road on 30 August.


The Midrand police are investigating a carjacking that took place on 30 August.

A spokesperson for the Midrand Police Station Sergeant Matome Tlamela said the incident occurred 12.16pm.

The victim was driving on Allandale Road when an unknown grey car indicated to him that he had a flat tyre.

The victim immediately stopped to investigate further when another vehicle with an unknown number of suspects stopped and allegedly hijacked him.

Tlamela added that the suspects took the victim and his car to Eldorado Park where they left him. The vehicle has not been recovered and the Midrand police are currently investigating a case of carjacking. The suspects are still at large.

Tlamela added that the police urge motorists not to stop when someone tells them that their tyre is flat. However, if they suspect that their tyre may be flat, they should drive to the nearest garage or police station to safely inspect their vehicle.
