Midrand Police Station needs your help

MIDRAND – Midrand police are asking for the community's help in solving a murder case which took place on M71 Main Road near Leeuwkop.


Midrand police are asking the community for assistance in solving a murder case after a man was fatally shot while he and two of his friends were walking home from Lonehill.

According to Midrand Police Station spokesperson Constable Eliot Mabulane, the three men were walking along M71 Main Road on 1 July when they were approached and stopped by two men. One of them was armed and he allegedly shot at the three men and killed one of them.

“Two of the men managed to escape as the suspect was about to aim his gun at them…,” said Mabulane.

“We still do not know what the motive of the killing was as no belongings were taken.”

“Futhermore, no arrests have been made but the case is under investigation, hence we as Midrand police are asking that community members who might have seen anything that happened should assist us in solving the case.”
