Little racers take to the tarmac

KYALAMI – Little racers had some big fun recently during Pinnacle Kyalami Pre-Primary School's recent Wheel Day.

They may not be old enough to drive yet but that didn’t stop these little racers from having fun on wheels.

Pinnacle College Kyalami Pre-Primary had their annual Wheels Day at the beginning of June where the learners were allowed to bring their wheels onto campus.

The car park was transformed into a fun-filled racetrack for the children to enjoy.

The petrol pump was ready and the tools were set up for the mechanics to get to work in the pit stop area.

The water buckets and sponges stood waiting at the car wash and eager little faces waited in anticipation for the flags to fall. Bikes of different colours, shapes, and sizes stood side by side along with the tricycles, scooters, and skateboards.

“Helmets on. Checked flags down and off they went,” said Heather Stonestreet, the head of the department for the pre-primary. “Racing around the track, anticipating sharp corners, maintaining their balance and avoiding possible collisions was all part of a wonderful experience that was enjoyed by all.

“This is certainly one of our favourite days at pre-primary.”
