Clinic’s operating hours are now extended

MIDRAND – The City of Johannesburg's Health Department extended the operating hours of the Midrand West Clinic.

The City of Johannesburg Health Department has extended the operating hours at the Midrand West Clinic from 24 June due to increasing demand in the area.

Assistant manager of the Citizen Relationship Management Department in the region, Pierre Nel said that it was also requested by the community members during an Integrated Development Plan meeting because of the population density in the area.

“Many people experienced that they could not reach the clinic after work so now they can visit on Saturdays. The average number of clients at the Midrand West Clinic is about 33 000 patients per month. The full bouquet of basic health services is provided at the clinic, including ante-natal care, HIV and TB treatments, chronic medication, minor illnesses, and immunisation to name a few.”

The clinic is open from Monday to Friday between 7am to 4pm and on Saturdays from 7am to 1.30pm. It is closed on Sundays and public holidays.

Other clinics in Region A that also have extended their hours include the Hikhensile Clinic in Ivory Park since April 2017, Rabie Ridge clinic since March this year and the Mayibuye clinic since November last year.
