New Jerusalem Children’s Home celebrates graduation of two children

IVORY PARK – The New Jerusalem Children's Home celebrated the achievements of two amazing graduates.

The New Jerusalem Children’s Home celebrated the graduation of two of the home’s first children from Siyakhula Computer School in Ivory Park.

Spokesperson for the home Raymond Madibogo said that 19-year-old Aurora Kwakwadi and Uriel Mashego were joined by the home’s board of directors at their graduation from Siyakhula Computer School following their completion of their End-User computer training courses.

The two graduates were among the first children taken in the home’s care when they opened in 2000. Madibogo said, “We look at them and welcome them home with ululation, drumming and dancing as they join the world of the graduates.”

He added, “Aurora and Uriel have not only graduated – one can notice their level of positive and boosted esteem, the readiness on their faces to meet and accept the outside world and to become positive socio-economic role players.

“Aurora will immediately be joining and taking administrative assistance duties in one of New Jerusalem Children’s Home partner organisations.

“Uriel, on the other hand, has seen an opportunity to explore and start another and second qualification in his life, graphic design, which he will be studying at the College SA.”
