Avbob warns public of fake job advertisements

JOHANNESBURG – Avbob calls on the public to be aware of fake job advertisements on social media.


Avbob Mutual Assurance Society has warned the public about fake job advertisements doing the rounds on social media.

Avbob said a syndicate, professing to be Avbob’s human resource department is using of a Gmail account to ‘recruit’ unaware South African citizens for jobs in return for a fee.

“Please note that this is a scam, Avbob has not advertised such posts and the company would never request applicants to pay a fee for any job posts or competence tests,” Avbob said in the statement.

The company further called on members of the social media community to refrain from sharing or referring anyone to these posts.

“Avbob is investigating the matter and we will be taking the necessary steps to ensure that the perpetrators are apprehended.”
