Midrand SPCA makes the cut for their special system

MIDRAND – Various stakeholders came together to hand over a new borehole and sewage system to the Midrand SPCA.

The Midrand SPCA hosted a special ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the operation of their new borehole and sewage system.

The small ceremony was hosted by SPCA general manager Pam Pretorius alongside various stakeholders who pushed the project including the dealer principal of Fury Mazda Midrand Bernerd Blom.

The system has been operational since 11 March as reported in the Midrand Reporter article titled It’s all systems go [Week ending 15 March].

Blom said that when Group CEO of Fury Motor Group Marq Roberts came to him to discuss the possibility of raising the money he believed it was a pipe dream. He added that their accomplishment in helping the SPCA was quite surreal. “We can bring animal food all the time to the SPCA. But this is sustainable and will make the world of difference to the organisation.”

Group CEO of Fury Motor Group Marq Roberts said, “This project has been in the discussion phase for almost two years and seeing it come to fruition is amazing and is a tribute to my team.”

Roberts added, “There’s a great satisfaction on our side but we also hope that it gives so much help. To the technical guys who assisted in the installation we have to give a big thank you.”

The recently installed system was begun in early February with funds of R300 000 being raised by Fury Motor Group, William Hunt Midrand, Lindsay Saker Midrand, Fury Ford Midrand and Fury Mazda Midrand. The system was designed and installed by Archiway Architects who built the borehole system, water retention tanks, a purification plant and upgrade water flow system on the property.
