The City of Johannesburg MMC of Public Safety, Michael Sun, has called on parents to be vigilant on how their children are transported to school.
The MMCās warning comes after a video of a taxi driver went viral on social media. The driver was pulled over by the police and to their surprise, the taxi had 45 schoolchildren inside and one passenger in the front seat.
Just received this shocking clip (not in Joburg)
Parents PLEASE be vigilant on how your children are being transported ! Their precious lives are just taxi fares to these heartless criminals !@HermanMashaba @CoJPublicSafety @AsktheChiefJMPD @CityofJoburgZA @JoburgMPD pic.twitter.com/muHgEndYNl

Twitter users went ballistic after seeing the video with others calling for the driver’s permit as well as his driver’s license to be suspended.
This is blatant child abuse
How can our children keep on being treated so inhumanely?
BATHONG!!!!
That driver's licence and PDP must be suspended for 5 years
Overloading alters the performance of the vehicle
If he lost control our small kids would have been crushed#NOMORE— Jšy Nkosi sikelel' iAfrika ā¤ Put SA 1st (@Joy_wa_Afrika) February 20, 2019
