School search proves to be a clean sweep
MIDRAND – An integrated joint school-search operation was conducted at Blue Hills College to search for illegal substances.
An integrated joint school-search operation was conducted by the South African Police Service along with the South African National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence, security companies, Victim Empowerment Centre and sector patrollers at Blue Hills College.
During the operation, all parties searched learners, classrooms and living quarters and found no illegal substances.
According to spokesperson for the Midrand Police Station Sergeant Matome Tlamela, more random searches will be conducted in the future to ensure that schools in and around Midrand are drug-free and that schoolchildren have a safe environment in which to learn.
