Midrand Striders seeks to grow its family

MIDRAND – The athletics club focuses on fitness, fun and family and is based at Curro Midrand.

Does your New Year’s resolution include taking up running, completing your first race or joining a running club?

The Midrand Striders running club is calling on the community to join this year.

The athletics club focuses on fitness, fun and family and is based at Curro Midrand. The club has more than 200 members but it is looking to grow its family. Members meet every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday for various types of runs.

When they are not conquering the hills of Midrand, you can find them at local races.

As part of its successes, 46 Midrand Striders lined up at the start of the Dis-Chem Half Marathon in Bedfordview on 13 January.

Midrand Striders’ fastest runner home was Tsenoli Tiheli in a time of 01:31:14 and a successful race day was celebrated at their club gazebo at the finish.
