Police search for 6 suspects after break-in at Constantia Park

MIDRAND – Six suspects forced entry into Constantia Park and broke into various companies.

Police are searching for six suspects after various electronic equipment was stolen from numerous companies at Constantia Park, Midrand, on the morning of 6 August.

According to the police, three security guards on duty were patrolling the facility when they were allegedly accosted by six men who tied them up. The suspects then broke into numerous company buildings and stole laptops and computer boxes.

“By the look of things and according to the security guards and CCTV footage, the six suspects were seen cutting open the lock of the back gate which they used to enter the facility,” said Midrand police’s Detective Sergeant Edward Dikgale.

“The footage shows the number of people but it is too dark therefore we could not make out the faces. Our biggest concern is why the alarm systems of these four companies did not go off, and why they were unable to detect movement. We suspect they might have previously been tampered with.”

Anyone with any information about who might be involved is encouraged to contact the police.

Details: Midrand Police Station 011 347 1626.
