Ward 112 councillor Madeleine Hicklin writes:
My ward is embarking on an ambitious project in honour of what would have been Nelson Mandela‘s 100th birthday.
We want to build 100 pallet beds for indigent South Africans to honour Madiba.
We have the pallets to build the beds and the funds for the nails and glue. What we lack is the money to pay for the mattresses. Each mattress costs R250 plus VAT.
We know how generous the residents of Midrand are and so we are appealing to 100 families to ‘Adopt-A-Bed’ and donate R300 per family to help turn the dreams of indigent South African youth into a reality. If you are interested, please send me your name and phone number on 082 744 5155.
The money will be paid into the bank account of NGO Let’s Transform Midrand.
The bank account details for Madiba’s 100 BEDS are as follows:
Bank: Standard Bank
Account name: Lets Transform Midrand
IBT: 001255
Branch: Midrand
Account number: 015173550
Deposit ref: Your surname and the words 100 BEDS
