Miss Eagle semi-finalist wants to give displaced people hope

MIDRAND – Local Waterfall resident urges all to go beyond their boundaries

Waterfall resident wants to give displaced people a second chance in life.

Blessing Malungane buys food for displaced people in Johannesburg when she can, using her allowance money. She said she wants to give them a second chance in life and hope for the future.

However, this time around, she is the one in need, of votes. She is one of the semi-finalists of Miss Eagle South Africa Ambassador and needs the public’s votes to help her take the crown.

The 19-year-old relocated to Johannesburg last year to further her studies. She is currently doing her second year in Bcom Finance and Accounting.

She said she learned to give to other people from her family. “Coming from the deep rural areas of Giyani, my mother always taught us to give the clothes that no longer fit us to other people in the village. This taught me to love and care for other people,” she said.

She also volunteers at local charity homes. She said she wants to inspire other people to go beyond their boundaries. “People should… learn to take the first step towards anything they want to achieve. Just that one step, is a step closer to their dreams.”
